Dear Students and Parents/Guardians of Academic Heights Public School,

Welcome to the AHPS family! I hope you are ready to experience an amazing school year. Our staff is working hard to prepare engaging and rewarding learning experiences for all students. At AHPS, we place high value on our partnership with parents, families, and community and we invite you to be an active part of helping students to achieve their full potential.

We believe that each and every student has a gift to share, and we work hard to unlock their highest potential. We have high expectations of our students, and we have high expectations of ourselves to help all AHPS students learn and grow into well-rounded citizens and critical thinkers. AHPS aims to develop leadership skills, social and emotional skills, and academic skills to prepare students for success not only in middle school but also in high school, career, relationships, and life-long learning.

AHPS students will be taught to view themselves as learners and to think about what it looks like to be a good learner and thinker. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are as important as content knowledge.

To help your student be successful in middle school, help them understand what is required of them to be a good learner inside and outside of the classroom. Talk about qualities and learning behaviors such as: taking positive risks, viewing errors as opportunities, working to recover from a mistake, giving and receiving feedback, asking questions, collaborating with peers, setting goals, planning with a purpose, and tracking their own progress.

COMPUTER LAB

Well-designed and separate computer labs for kids and older children, run by a well-educated and qualified faculty, with one-on-one access, which means there is one computer for each child. Children can learn to make various subject related researches using the computer; also they can use it to make various projects in school.

DIGITAL LANGUAGE LAB

Academic Heights Public Schools using its unique language learning technology prepares the participants to learn language and communicate in the target language with confidence. This language lab system allows instructor to strategically develop text/exercise/activities for learners, monitor students’ learning for extensive support and evaluate their performance to accomplish the vision of language proficiency for all students. The methodology is a blend of learner centered teaching with ICT enabled training, practice and evaluation. The modules are designed so that the course follows LSRW framework providing a rich environment to learn the language and a new outlook for the students to support themselves. Unlike in the traditional classroom with ‘chalk and talk’ setting, this latest technology bridges the communication gap between teacher and students, allowing flexible interaction, paving way to unique teaching-learning experience.
